My husband and I recently stayed for an extended weekend at Faith's Lodge. Faith's Lodge offers various weekends for different situations. We lost our boy, Bennett, at 40 weeks and 4 days to a stillbirth approximately 7 weeks prior to attending the retreat. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by gracious and welcoming staff. The grounds and facilities are outstanding, for somewhere that holds so many tears, it's the warmest and most comfortable space. Outside, there are many trails through beautiful woods with signs of encouragement, benches to overlooks the lakes, etc. Inside, the lodge is huge and very well kept. My husband and I got our own room with private bathrooms. Many of the spaces in the lodge have been dedicated to other children who have passed, and you are able to read their stories in the binders throughout the facility. Out time during the weekend was spent sharing the stories of our baby / journey, connecting with others, therapeutic crafts / projects, yoga, journaling, etc. Personally, after we lost our son, I was desperate to find connection with others who understood our unique story. The connections we made at Faith's Lodge was everything I hoped it would be - I will absolutely stay in touch with the others we met during our time. While we were very anxious to attend, especially as we were so close to losing our son, we are SO HAPPY we went. We keep telling everyone what a wonderful and blessed experience it was. I would go back in a heartbeat. It's the safest, most comfortable space to connect with others and tell your story. I would highly recommend attending; if you are on the fence about attending - don't be. Book the retreat. It was so healing.

Oh, what a wonderful few days. I just attended the retreat for parents of children who overdosed. It was so scary to do this trip. Meet people and delve into my feelings about the loss of my daughter. However this place brought me much joy, peace and new friends that are already like family. We laughed and cried together. The cooking class, yoga, meditation and massage were just the bonuses to this little trip. I will definitely be back to Faiths Lodge to make more wonderful memories and enjoy the beautiful grounds. Thanks so much

I went to the Bereaved Mothers retreat with no expectations. This was a big deal for me to travel so far (NC) and to be surrounded by strangers when facing the worst moment of my life (lost my son, age 33 eleven months ago). I came away with what I hope will be lifelong connections, to 5 other moms struggling like I am. I came away with a sense of peace I haven’t yet had. Am I still struggling? Of course, I will forever struggle with this. The space and the activities were good for the heart and soul. Meals were cooked and served by volunteers- what an amazing group of ladies to do this for us. Highly recommend to anyone going through a loss.

I found Faith's Lodge to be very healing. It was amazing to connect with other parents that just " get it " We all have our own journey with our grief but connecting with other parents who are dealing the loss of their child if very comforting and hard to describe unless you have been through it. The Lodge was so calming the grounds are beautiful. Staff was also amazing. I have made life long friends with the parents I met on my weekend. We laughed and cried together in a safe welcoming environment.Hoping to come back again.

The weekend retreat was helpful to me as I continue to mourn the loss of my son. Being with other moms who "get it" was valuable and created a safe space for us to cry, laugh, talk, and share our grief. I appreciated the offering of activities and the flexibility of participation. The rooms were comfortable and added to the peaceful setting needed. The 1:1 and group therapy provided additional support and understanding of my tragedy. While I would not consider myself an "artist," I did find myself enjoying the craft activities we could choose to do. I fervently wish there was a dad's weekend that my husband could attend.

Child Loss Foundation deserves every one of these 5 stars and more. My wife and I attended their parent–child loss retreat at Faith’s Lodge after our young son died of brain cancer, and it was one of the most sacred, tender spaces we’ve experienced in this grief journey. From the moment we arrived, we felt seen, understood, and gently held—never pushed, never rushed, just invited to be exactly where we were. Over the weekend we met other parents who lost their children (whether from cancer or accidents). The way the retreat was structured helped us all move from being strangers with unimaginable pain to a true little community who could say, “You’re not crazy, you’re not alone—I get it.” There were group sessions with helpful metaphors and language for grief, quiet spaces to cry, laugh, or just breathe, and shared times to honor and remember our children by name. Our individual couples session with the grief therapist was incredibly valuable. He was trauma-informed, practical, and compassionate—he didn’t try to “fix” our grief, but helped us understand it, talk to each other about it, and think through how to support our surviving children. The balance between counseling, group sharing, and unstructured time at the lodge felt just right: enough guidance to be held, enough freedom to simply be. We left Faith’s Lodge still heartbroken—but less isolated—like we’d been given language, tools, and relationships to help us keep walking. If you are a bereaved parent wondering whether it’s worth the emotional energy to go: it is. Child Loss Foundation and the team at Faith’s Lodge have created a truly holy place for grieving families, and we are deeply grateful.

My husband and I spent a weekend at Faith's Lodge a few months after losing our daughter. It was exactly what we needed, we found community, experienced peace, spent time outdoors, and reflected on our memories and grief. I would recommend Faith's Lodge to anyone who has lost a loved one. The staff was welcoming and warm, and the location is beautiful. We are forever thankful for Faith's Lodge!

Faith's Lodge is a sacred place. The grounds, the lodge itself, and the staff are something truly special. This retreat center is specifically for parents who have experienced child loss, and every single aspect of the facilities and programming is designed with the intent for positive connection and healing. I attended a retreat for loss parents whose children died anywhere from 21weeks gestations to stillbirth. There are retreats for all types of loss and ages of children. This is designed to help those grieving to connect with others who can understand their loss and struggles to some degree. This aspect alone is massively helpful. The grief and pain of loss is bad enough, but feeling alone in it is even worse. The retreats offer hope for healing, whatever that may look like for various people. The programming of each weekend offers yoga, meditation, outdoor recreation, rest, counseling, art projects, cooking and writing as optional attendee sessions. Otherwise, if you need to rest or have solo time in your room or on-property at any time you can do that too. Faith's Lodge truly is designed to offer whatever a grieving family member needs to process their loss and the impact of it in a safe, healthy environment. The staff is wonderful and has been chosen specifically because they understand different aspects of what retreat attendees are going through. The way that they honor the children remembered at the Lodge is beautiful. I waited over 2 years to attend a retreat because I was afraid to reopen the hurt of losing my baby girl. However, I am SO GRATEFUL for the experience I had at Faith's Lodge, and the connections I have established with the other loss parents who attended my weekend. Being able to attend was a gift, and I would encourage anyone who knows the pain of child loss to look at the Faith's Lodge website to see if an upcoming retreat is appropriate to their situation. If one is, attend. You will find so much beauty in your experience.
